A fabulous Loetz or Kralik blown glass vase in a twisted form that is housed in a
metalwork mount with a tri-foot base.
The metalwork is in bronze or brass
in a Wiener Werkstatte style - having three feet and three hammered shield
shaped designs that encircle the glass vase.
The glass is in gold with a purple iridescent hue throughout.
The glass has two layers.
The interior layer being clear with a white (almost opalescent) tinge of
colour and the outer layer being the gold that you see in the photos with a purple iridescence.
The metal work is not signed - but has an impressed number 15 (or L5) on the interior rim.
The whole style of the vase is certainly
from the Vienna / Austrian Secessionist movement - a movement in which
the Weiner Werkstatte was a large part of.
This piece dates circa 1900-1905.
Total Measurement: 10 3/4 inches high x 4 3/4 inches wide.
